Comet C/2020 F3 NEOWISE 28/07/2020

Folks,

Just above the horizon once the Sun's influence had waned here in Caloundra this evening - the first time it's been clear in a week

The presence of the Moon and local light pollution made this especially tricky...but it is lurking there, honest!

15x 8 second shots with a Canon 6D + 70-200mm zoom @ 200mm on a Star Adventurer just plonked down on the grass roughly in the direction of south.

Certainly could do with a telescope, this one.

Edit: added a "comet aligned" version, hinting at a touch of plume separation.

Cheers,
Dunk

Wow . Good to get that . Extremely close to horizon here. Would need to be on an island or a mountain.

Thanks Ray, Pete

FWIW, I initially had the camera pointing higher up than it was, but then used the inclinometer on my phone resting on the lens to clock it. It wasn’t much above the horizon, maybe 15 degrees when I started shooting? Certainly well into the horizontal muck
