Saturn - July 17

Folks,

Last Saturday night was forecast to have a steady-ish jet stream, but the planets were bouncing around the screen fairly well, so I was having a good game of pong with the scope controls

Taken with my C11 EdgeHD, WO 1.25" Barlow and ZWO ASI290MM camera over the course of 15 minutes.

Tiredness got the better of me, and I thought the seeing was dropping off, so I figured it was probably a good time for me to pack up so I could drop off too Shame really, as it could use a little more data...

I'm not certain I was close enough to opposition to get the 'opposition surge' of brightness (see Tulloch - Andrew's post for this demonstration!), but it was all educational as it's been cloudy every night since

Cheers,
Dunk

I think you certainly got some of the surge - excellent image with perfect amount of sharpness IMHO, but as you said, you really should have stayed out there for a bit longer to get that noise down a touch more

Yeah when you live in a warm bath, getting in a cold shower is a shock to the system
