Stromlo & maybe Tidbinbilla under threat... again

Saw the damage at Stromlo a few years after the previous fires that hit it & suburban Canberra.

I hope it is spared this time...

Let alone, potential threat to Tidbinbilla...

Appreciate your thoughts Outcast, all ok atm fires under control thx to sterling efforts by the fireys. Can you believe fire was started by hoons burning a stolen car out in the bush?? Fire was only 7k from my place but all ok ftm Cheers Tom Kambah ACT

Yep, I can believe that Tom...

Stupid fools who don't even consider what their actions might cause. Last fire, house of a good friend of ours came under threat & the fire even came close to our old house in Duffey....

We visited our friends a few years later & saw the scars of where the fire had been.. We used to walk our dogs in the pine forest adjacent to Duffey.. all gone now..as well as some remnants of damage where folk had yet to rebuild...

Saw the damage at Stromlo, seem to recall that some rather old & irreplaceable telescopes were lost in the fire...

Would hate to see a repeat due to the actions of idiots...
