planatarium software

Hi folks. Done some research and want software for charting, planning and T control. Have come up with deep sky 2000 $70 delivered. Second place was Aussie star atlas pro but a little expensive at $135. Any thoughts. I have windows 7.

Which mount are you using?
I have Astroplanner V2 for planning etc. and Cartes du Ceil for planetarium/ GOTO via EQMod on a NEQ6.

C2a

For me C2A is the one.

Free;
The ability to load the following catalogues:
SAO
USNO-A & B
Tycho-2
Hipparcos
UCAC1 thru UCAC4
Guide Star Catalogue
NOMAD
PPMXL
CMC15, plus others;

Planning and scheduling;
Drift Analysis;
Observatory Control;
Imaging tools;

ASCOM compliant

And very easy to use.

And did I mention it's free

Pretty much agree with both Chris and Ken.

CdC can have more catalogs than you can poke a stick added, including the ones Chris listed under C2A as well as NOMAD.

If you wanted to run on Linux then CdC is also INDI compatible.

Cartes du Ciel in Distro Astro 3.0 includes a catalogue of a million DSO's.
And the cost is $70 less than DS2000.

I use CdC as well. All my software on my observatory is free except camera control (12euros).
