Here's another Little beach photo that I took back in early January... I took this same shot 2 years ago, and the inspiration for this photo this time around was to see how the image would come out, but this time with all different equipment, techniques and skill sets. The shot was taken from the exact same location and time of year, close enough, so the milkyway would be in the same location in the sky as my shot 2 years prior. My previous attempt is also attached underneath.
I have to say I'm very happy with how the panorama turned out... This is a full 360 degree panorama comprising of about 60 individual images. As I was able to track the sky which allowed for more exposure, I reduced the ISO which increased the dynamic range of the camera. As a result, I have retained star colours much better than previous photos, It looks much better I think! Some people may think this is so unnatural and it looks fake with this much colour, personally I like colour, and using a full spectrum modified camera helps alot to pick up the Ha emissions that would otherwise be blocked.
This is a tracked panorama, the sky exposures were tracked for 30 sec at 3200 ISO and f1.4 and the land was exposed for the same without tracking at 12800 ISO. The stitching was performed in PTGui Pro and the sky and land later blended in CS6. This image has been reduced from a full resolution size of 750 odd MB down to a couple of hundred KB ... so severely compressed. I might adda higher resolution to Astrobin later or wait for my webpage.

It is a really hard decision as to whether I need an astro modified DSLR or the 35mm F/1.4... Or maybe both!
