IC 4592 Blue Horsehead

This is a target that i've wanted to take for a while. It is the Blue Horsehead IC4592 a faint Mag 4 reflection nebular located in Scorpius. It's also a bit noisy as it needed more time. I wasted time taking Ha (auto settings!!) and could have used this extra time in the LRGB. I had to discard the last few subs as it was getting low on the horizon and a bit too murky. 71mm Quad APO, Atik 11000M Camera 50Min Lum, 25 ea RGB for 125 mins total. Processed in Pixinsight and PS-CC.

EDIT Hires version on Astrobin https://www.astrobin.com/361405/0/?nc=user

Thanks for looking

Paul

Thanks Mike, It was your image that got me going but I have had to wait a month for the one and only clear night to take this picture.

I’m loving the 71mm and have a heap of targets planned.

That's very nice, Paul! I have a very tiny one to process from my 100mm lens at Astrofest but it won't be as cool as that

With the 100mm you should be able to get the longer tails running from the horses head...

Very nice. Its a great target and its always a plus when the nebulas form a recognisable shape.

Thank you Greg It is hard explaining to people when some of the Nebs barely resemble what they are called!
