February Photo Challenge - Entries (Please Post them here)

The Topic this month thanks to Lewis is "Sunburnt Country"
All about this scorching Aussie summer, even including the bushfires

Remember...
* This thread is only for posting your entry, together with any comments/explanation/details you'd like to issue concerning your own photo.
[sometimes this may help sway the judges]
* However, comments on other peoples' entries, or any "other" shots of your own you'd like to share, can be posted in the Comments and Rejects Thread -> HERE.
* And, it's only one entry (that's just one image) per person (but you can change it out at any time if you get a better one)
* Importantly, the image must be your "own work" and
* all other normal forum rules, and image size limits, apply.

The image doesn't necessarily have to be taken this month, but in the spirit of the challenge, we encourage you to get out and engage with it.
In this regard, YES, the image may be one that you have previously posted, unless of course it has already been voted a previous photo challenge winner.

The winner of the public vote, which will be run at the end of the month, will get to choose next month's topic and have their photo added to our "Photo Challenge Hall of Fame".

Good Luck!

Kangaroo Ground

There are kangaroos in Kangaroo Ground - funny about that. I went for a drive out of town this evening to take some lightning shots over the hills but there was none to be found. I stopped to take a shot of the sunset on the way home and it was almost dark when I took this, the end of another warm day.

Fire in the sky

View of the setting sun looking west from Central Victoria. Looks like fire in the sky.

The purple gorge, Ormiston

I don’t mind an unburned Country. Does not get much more sunburnt than this.

What to me is the epitome of Summer of 2019/2020.

Deadly dry, smokey horizons, and the forthcoming relief rain. The long winding path leading to summer's flying saviour.

(yes, the photo is this way naturally - photo was taken at last light with an iPhone )

Blackheath Fires 2019

I took this pic on the 22nd of January at Govett's Leap lookout after the devastating fires which went through Blackheath in December and early January. With the massive amount of rain we have had in the past couple of weeks the Grose Valley and surrounds have started greening up which is a blessing.

The Breakaways

The Breakaways, in South Australia, near Coober Pedy.
A sunburnt desolate region, yet glorious in its own beauty.
