Sky-Watcher Evostar 150ED

Anyone have this new 150mm doublet apochromatic refractor? If so, did it reach you with its collimation intact? Any cosmetic problems? How is the optical performance?

Thank you!

William

Hi William

I have had one for quite a number of months.........

http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/s...d.php?t=168486

At the time when I picked it up, I ensured to pick it up in person from the retailer to ensure all was in good condition.

In terms of performance..... WOW!! Certainly my sample exhibits an excellent star test. I regularly cruise along the lunar terminator with my Pentax XW 5mm with a 2.5x Powermate (600x), obviously in good seeing, and sometimes even whack in the 3.5 XW with the Powermate.

I am extremely impressed with this scope. Very minimal CA, if any at all, present on the moon or brighter stars.

From a mechanical perspective, do not seem to have any issues. The stock focuser has no issues with a 2 inch Baader diagonal and 31mm Nagler.

Hope this helps

Cheers

D
