Cyclops Optics Delivery Problems

Hi Guys,

I'm looking for experience of others in dealing with Cyclops Optics, and their STC filter in particular.

I have ordered a clip in filter (STC Astro Duo-Narrowband) from Cyclops in HK in early April but have not received the product and the vendor stopped communicating after the first email.

Has somebody ordered an STC filter from them and actually received anything? I'm starting to think that they just keep my money and never deliver, especially since these guys don't communicate anymore - not even when I asked for my money back.

Cheers,

I ordered one of the 2" versions. Didn't suit my needs in the end so resold it.

From order to post was 3 weeks, and then another 2 week post transit. Was not overly impressed.

I ordered my QHY178M through them. Their communication was pretty poor... asking me questions I'd already answered and then failing to respond to my queries. I have a vague recollection of slow delivery with poor tracking as well.

I did ultimately get my QHY178M but yeah, the service was lacking.

I bought a set of Optolong RGBL filters from them without any problems at all. Of course that was several years ago now, so thing may have changed.

I never received a SINGLE response to any query EVER sent, until after the item was already here .

So everyone got their goods in the end, it just took ages and they never reply to email. Right?

Lewis, you said the STC dual band didn’t fit your purpose. Does it not work as advertised or did have side effects?

All filters have side effects. It was OK, just not the "look" I was after.
