Instead of using the inbuilt script for mapping HO in to colour channels, I manually just mapped Hydrogen to red, Oxygen to blue and green without creating a synthetic channel. I think I prefer it this way since it makes it more natural looking. Clouds were intermittent and SGP for some reason didn't do a automatic meridian flip (I think because I was mucking about in EQMOD settings a few days ago) so I had limited Oiii subs to work with. One great thing about running SGP nowadays is that I can set it running and go to sleep and wake up in the morning with the camera warmed up, darks taken and scope parked

15x 300sec Ha
10x 600sec Oiii
same number of darks for each of the filters, no flats.

How can it be more natural looking when the blue[of which there is a lot if
all colours are given equal billing] is almost obliterated?
Not only the blue is almost obliterated, but the nebular material itself that is normally
blue, is also nearly obliterated, so you've lost some of the nebula.

I quite like the HOO palette. Looks closest to RGB. You could do with some more OIII otherwise great shot.

When I mean natural looking, I mean the colour palette. Compared to the more yellow orange look of the traditional HOO with a synthetic green channel its more natural. The reason theres not much blue is because I don't have enough OIII data. The colour palette has nothing to do with losing nebulosity.

Fair enough. Regarding the nebulosity, the blue nebulosity is so tenuous
that without its colour it becomes very faint indeed. I look forward to seeing it with more OIII.
