The sun today

Had a quick look at the sun today. Couldn't see much happening with Ha in the eyepiece so popped on the camera. A few small proms but when I really cranked up the gain, there was a massive prom sitting there. Quite faint, had to increase exposure time up to 21ms to get the gain down to a reasonable level. Stack of 500 frames from 2000 taken with ZWO ASI290MM through a Lunt 60mm Ha Scope with ZWO EAF Focuser on a Feathertouch focuser and mounted on an Orion AZ/EQ G mount. Processed with PIPP and Registax and some levels tweaked in Photo shop.

Malcolm,
Not an easy capture, but you’ve done well.
Well done!

Very nice capture of the prom especially when that faint, does it look like a leaping antelope to anyone else or is it just me.

Thanks, yes I saw the antelope straight away.

It was super faint, shows it is always worthwhile cranking up the gain to make sure there is something there or not. Especially at the moment with so little surface detail.
