Meteor?

I was outside doing some work for university. (watching I carinae and calculating its period over time) At about 11:42pm AEDST on the 14th march, i saw what looked like a very bright metoer (more like a small fireball really, but it was out of the corner of my eye so i cant really be sure of details, but it was red) briefly in the area of centarus - antlia - hydra. Any ideas what this was? i havnt seen many meteors in a while, but it did seem bigger and brighter than normal.
