Amazon’s Kuiper constellation gets FCC approval

Just keeps getting better for the hobby.

The U.S. Federal Communications Commission on July 30 approved Amazon’s request to operate a constellation of roughly 3,200 internet satellites in low Earth orbit.
The FCC said Amazon has until July 30, 2026, to launch at least 50% of its satellites in order to maintain its authorization, and until July 30, 2029, to orbit the full constellation

Why is it that somehow I don't think that it is particularly good news for us.

Any news is good for someone, but not for all. Not everyone has the same opportunities and needs. You are observing the sky through a telescope (let's say). And the other guy can't get up but wants to watch the sky too. And beyond space. And for him, viewing photos and videos from satellites, for some reason, is the only option. So it all depends on the point of view.
