I have a Celestron Astro-Fi AZ mount, which works the same way from the Sky safari (and other software)'s perspective.
I'd recommend using it in infrastructure mode where possible, rather than ad-hoc. That said, it's getting more stable with every update (at least for me). EDIT: this last point is limited to the Celestron Wifi adaptor. Having never used the Skywatcher unit, I'm obviously unqualified to comment. It may be worth considering, should you have trouble however. Also, recent reading advises paying attention to phone/tablet "battery saving" modes, which may break the connection - not good if in mid-slew!
