Lets see some ED 80 Pix

Having recently purchased a Skywatcher ED80 and trying to master astrophotography with bit I would love to see your attempts. Mine are still a bit rough around the edges but are improving.

My best yet.

Hagar, yours is quite a good image

The ED80 is a very good scope for Astrphotography for its size. I am very pleased with mine.

Here is the same area as your image (Carina) taken thru my ED80 with just a modified Toucam, also Trifid, NGC4945 and Orion Nebula:

Here's an oldie but a goodie, M42 from Lostock last year, (seems like forever ago) using an Orion ED80 and Canon 300D (perfect match). Along with Eta Carina, M45, M7 and M31. All taken with a Canon 300D, sometimes with a 6.3 FR sometimes without (M31 with I think)

Wow, you can really see the difference is Star quality between Hagars and Pauls DSLR images (pinpoint) compared to my Toucam images (blobs).

Looks like I need to go 350D or similiar!

Omega Globular Cluster

Great Photo's truely a great scope for their size and cost....Big question??? How do you acheive the difraction spikes? They realy add to the image.

Here is a shot of Omega Centauri cluster. A bit of star trailing but I think I am slowly getting better at drift alignment. I think I am a little dislexic when it come to drift alignment but I will keep trying.

A couple of ways to get difraction spikes. Make up a hoop to go over the end of the scope with a couple of fine wires stretched across at 90 deg to each other (you will need to experiment with the thickness of wire/thread to suit your tastes ) or you can put them in using photoshop .
