Nundah Public Outreach Observing Night
Hi,
Given the wonderful views of late of the moon, Jupiter, Saturn and even a dust shrouded Mars I decided keeping such views to myself, through such fine telescopes, was selfish. I wanted to share the views and especially with people who have perhaps never had that chance. To that end I decided to suggested a public observing night via the Nundah & Northgate Facebook page. The response was extremely positive and I have set a date for Saturn 21st July.
Now, I know this is a popular date and the regular societies all seem to have events planned. Notwithstanding that, having made the commitment I plan to stick with it and will be taking my APM 152mm and 16" SDM along. I have reached out to a few people who have kindly agreed to bring scope along, but I'm just reaching out via IIS for anyone in Brisbane and who is free that night to plan to come along with a scope. Boyd park is large and I have formal permission from the council to run the free event. I would really like to see as many telescopes there, of all types and sizes as possible to give people plenty of opportunity to view the celestial objects without too much waiting around.
I live not far from the park and will happily invite people bringing telescopes before the event for refreshments.
If you have a telescope and are willing to help out on that evening please pm me.
Cheers,
Chris
