Prom on the Sun

2nd August, 2 pm. Had to wait for the clouds to clear but I managed to take this single exposure shot of a nice prominence on the Sun. SM II 60 scope (Ha) with Canon 550d camera. Also a few filaments and spots visible.
Thanks for viewing. Cheers. John W.

Been out shooting the sun today and wasn't that lucky.
How do I get a shot like that?
Better than Baader film filter

Peter,
John is using an external Ha etalon filter.
These are pretty expensive, sophisticated filters. Specifically for viewing the sun in Ha wavelengths - to show the surface detail, filaments and prominences.
