My best Triffid.

Hi all
last night was very chilly and very clear, seeing was pretty good too, was as careful as possible to get best focus on the Triffid. Image is 8x10 mins ISO200, UV/IR filter, modded 350D, 10 inch f5.6 newt.
hand off axis guided. was very careful with the guiding and found a guidestar bright enough to use the ZWO guide cam unbinned. had used Sharpcap 3.1 to get polar alignment to within arc seconds of the SCP, hardly any dec adjustments were made.
Full res. version here http://www.users.on.net/~josiah/trif...0incoldfin.jpg

Images calibrated and initially processed with IRIS, finished in photoshop.

Many thanks all. Iris software has a nice Dynamic Stretching and Colour Stretching function, which brings out star colours after finishing off in Photoshop.
While guiding I was watching Ninja Warrior on TV, guide cam image was so magnified each pixel was a few mm across on the screen, and endevoured to keep the star as steady on a virtual reticle as possible.

I cant speak highly enough of the Sharpcap Polar Alingment.

Its so satisfying to be able to move the mount in altitude and azimuth and see the SCP move right onto the axis of rotation, then do another iteration and see it report alignment within arc seconds, then having to hardly touch the DEC control during the 10 minute subs.

Thanks all. Dave that's all the data did it in one session, the other night I imaged the Bug Nebula.
I don't mind the hands on guiding though for really long sessions it gets a bit tedious. Accurate polar alignment really helps.
