Please give some details of when the shot was taken etc
People then may be able to help pin it down.

If it is the evening of the 28/4 then I saw it too There is a second one towards the right on the limb. I was observing with a 25cm Newt at 205x which was optimal for the seeing conditions that evening. I saw it as a dark cloud formation or festoon in the making. It was more circular than elongated with a hint of a swirl pattern.
The disturbances in this region of Jupiter are well documented in historical visual observations in the past 150 years and they even appear in the JupiterMoons app (Sky and Telescope). The clouds are always changing shape and often colour and contrast changes too. Jupiter is a most fascinating planet to observe.
