720Nano on a Nano

Hi guys, a bit of experimentation from my front yard down here in Melbourne. Weather has been crap for astro so it was nice to see a bit of clear sky overhead tonight although quite windy . But hey, what can you do? Grab your Nano Tracker and tripod and sneak a few subs in before the clouds approach.

This is a stack of 5 x 50 sec subs using a 720nm IR filter with my full spectrum modified 550d. They were shot at f5.6 through a 55 -250mm Canon kit lens set at 100mm. Fun trying to frame things when you can only use Live View, you can't see anything through this IR72 filter if viewing through the optical view finder. Shot in monochrome at 3200iso.

So this is what the galactic centre looks like in Infra Red..........
