Sounds like you've had some fun anyway Suzy, so that in itself is the reward.

The vote is just a bonus.

I am still looking for an entry...
I'm enjoying everyone's stuff so far.
Wishing I could submit this , as I thought of it as soon as
I saw the song title, however it has been submitted before.

This is 'A' Station, Central Power Station, Broken Hill N.S.W.
Decommissioned in 1986, it supplied the underground mines and surface
workings of all mines in the city.
Now in total silence.

Several relatives and friends of mine worked in this building over the decades.

Steve

Some John Wests from the archive (Trip to Istanbul in 2013)

1. Through narrow streets of cobblestone... Istanbul.
2. ten thousand people maybe more... Istanbul.
3. And the people bowed and prayed... Istanbul.
4. Through narrow streets of cobblestone... Istanbul.
5. Through narrow streets of cobblestone... Istanbul.

Hey Al, that second one looks like the Turkish Beatles crossing Abbey Road.

I didn't notice that, but as soon as you mentioned it, yes, I see it!

I've come to talk with you again...

I had a composition in mind with an old woman in her cluttered home being visited by a very young grandson or granddaughter (Maybe even toddler age?). Maximum saccharine cuteness with the old girl looking rapt to be visited and the kid looking seriously fond of the old chook. However, my wife flatly refused to play one of the roles.... and you simply can't get cute and directable kids on demands these days... (The same cast could have posed for "Take my arms that I might reach" you as well....)

So I had to settle for one Googled off the internet. Same title - "I've come to talk with you again" - but different setup..

"And in the naked light I saw, ten thousand people maybe more..."

I also rather like the idea of copying Spencer Tunick's idea and shooting something similar in my garden.

However, only nine thousand people turned up, so I had to just take a few test shots and then cancel. Maybe another day....

Thanks Suzy. At the time it was a great place to visit. Not sure what the current situation is like for western tourists though.

The biggest regret was not taking my camera when we went for a walk the first night in Istanbul. The back streets and "palaces of the people" (slums) would've made some extraordinary existing light photos.

Urghhhh! Why didn't I think to incorporate one *bangs head*. I had the perfect shot too that I may have been able to incorporate. Perhaps printed it off and hung it in the background or somewhere .
And I was struggling whether to use that shot (I call it "Spooky") as an entry (tho an archive shot) But I decided to get out and have a go & hopefully get something worthwhile from the night.

Btw, those suggestions are awesome! Hubby actually suggested something like that would be fantastic for the 10,000 people or more caption but where does one come across that .

B787-8 Dreamliner BKK-YBBN as TG473 #HS-TQC
RO1 approach, snapped around 2,500ft. April 9th 2016.
Surrounded by a bright condensation display spraying from its wings. Reminds me of a ghost ship in the air

Steve, you're allowed to enter an image that you've submitted before mate.
Nothing against the rules on that.

Lovely shot Steve. The silence is almost deafening. It reminds me a little of visiting the Midland railways workshops, here in WA. They were once packed with hundreds of workers building, servicing and repairing carriages and locomotives. All fire, smoke and noise. But now empty. At least they haven't knocked them down yet and there is still some interesting old equipment to be seen there.

Similar view below - but not as striking as yours though.

Nice shot of the plane Suzy

I must say I didn't think of that angle either... Disturb the sound of silence..

I saw "silence" and overlooked "disturb"..

I could have had a bawling baby, cars racing, motorbikes, guitar and amplifiers..., a rooster crowing..... even an 'angry bird' shot like the one below. I have nearly as many pictures of birds as you have of planes..

We could do this theme all year!

He doesn't look happy at all does he . Great capture, Chris!
I find Crows really entertaining in their expressions, I've captured some great ones from the airport; they love to watch the planes fly!
And yes, so much can be done with "disturb " .

Here's another one from my archive taken a few months ago.

In restless dreams I walked alone......
