NGC3132 Eight Burst Nebula

NGC 3132, also known as the Eight-Burst Nebula or the Southern Ring Nebula, is a bright planetary nebula in the constellation Vela. Its distance from Earth is estimated at about 2,000 light-years.

First time I've imaged this pretty little planetary nebula.
GSO 10" F4 Newtonian, full spectrum Canon1100D, Baader Semi-Apo filter + MPCC MKIII, 110x30 seconds at ISO1600, HEQ5 Pro unguided. Upsampled 2x.

Larger field at Astrobin ---> https://astrob.in/337367/0/

Needs a bigger gun lol. I better stop chasing these tiny things or I'll get aperture fever again. Wait... why am I looking at longer FL scopes.... Halp!

Thanks Mike. I'll have to observe it visually one year.

Unfortunately, at .5 arc secs per pixel it's going to be tough to improve on that with any kind of long exposure! I've always thought planetaries were the next frontier for amateur imaging. Rather than longer focal length, we'll all need to move to Atacama...
cheers
Andrew.

Pretty acceptable from a DSLR. Things have turned around remarkably in the last 10 years. The colour is good, but it looks like your collimation might need a little attention.

Yeah seeing at sea level in the tropics is like looking through soup. I was surprised to get what I did from it.

Thanks Paul. Yeah there's some flare to one side of the stars. I suck at collimating F4 Newts too.
