Cool First Astro Image Try- Orion Nebula: Help Please

This is a photo (black and white) I took of the Orion Nebula on Friday night using a 9.25" CGEM 925. It is 29 images of 30 seconds exposure which equals 14:30 minutes. It was taken with a Nikon D-7100 and is in black and white because i could not get the colour to come out using Deep sky Stacker.

Does anyone know how to get the colour out because there is red and blue in the original photo but only blue in the final?

The black and white is the final photo, the blue is what came out of DSS and the blue and red is the original photo.

Thanks!

you might have to change the bayer matrix to get it to do the right thing - read the help for that

I had a look but I cant figure out how to adjust the Bayer matrix. Did I miss something or do you have to deep into the settings?

Colour in DSS

In DSS, did you align the RGB channels?
Just in case you didn't, you need to de-link the RGB channels and move the sliders to align all the channels (ie one on top of the other).
I always do that first.
Then you can mess with the saturation and midtones etc.
I have the D7000, and this works for me.
Hope this helps

Bob

The last one is one the money. Little vignetting and color balance needed but that's all.

Thanks, I will have a look. I used a D-7100 so it should work for me as well.

Am about to leave to go watch the Geminids meteor shower so will have a play when i get back.
