Good seeing in Melbourne

Finally I had some good seeing last night. Far from excellent though, as only about 30% of the captured frames were usable. Maybe a faster camera could have helped.

Nice definition in polar regions Stefan! What gear do you use?

It was the best seeing I’ve seen in Melbourne in quite some time. It’s kinda similar to what I was seeing visually through the Mewlon last night, albeit upside down
Very nice Stefan

Yes Stefan, very nice shot indeed. I got out there with my humble 8 inch Newt and DSLR and even managed to get some detail from Melbourne last night.

Thanks. Self made 16" Dall-Kirkham/Alt-Az mount and ASI120MM.

Very nice Stefan
I only looked briefly and it was looking good at 400x. You must have an extra mirror in your Mewlon because I presented the image with North on top.

Thanks. You stayed up much later by the look of it. I consider 10" as entry level for planetary imaging, so you did well with 8".
