more 4th august sunnage from the doghouse

well this was gathered at the same time as the other stuff i got that afternoon- but this one is just using the DMK41 with no reducer on the DS 60mm lunt. I have tried two different methods to process this same data - oh how i need to learn a solid method. staked in autostakker2 but processed in registax6 then butchered in photoshop

+1 for the second one. It has a little more contrast in the detail.

What gamma level are you using at capture Dave?

It looks like your scope has a sweet spot for etalon tuning. To be honest I tried the path of capturing the whole sun on the DMK41 and was never satisfied with the results and obtaining similar results. Perhaps using a 2x barlow with give you even illumination of a panel and the chance to do mosaics which give you lots more detail.

I think your processing in the first is more natural looking and I think you have gone as far as you can with this single panel imaging.

Dave I like #2. That bright bit in the centre? I wonder if you used a B1800 blocking filter would it still be there?Maybe see what Pedro uses on Solachat as he gets superb discs with the 60 .Not as good as Pauls mosaics but a lot less processing.
