Maksutov price alert

I notice in Camerahouse's brochure in today's paper that they are selling a 127mm Maksutov with a WIFI Goto Mount for $570. This is cheaper that what a OTA for a 127mm normally goes for!

They also have a 102mm Maksutov for $480.

However, if U need help afterwards, I suspect that Camerahouse staff may be out of their comfort zone. Still, it may be a bargain for many.

If it is the same one I have seen numerous times at gunshows, trade shows etc etc, $570 is EXPENSIVE (usually $300), and the optics are...well...yeah.

Caveat Emptor.

If they are Skywatchers then that is a good price, as Skywatcher USA has the OTA only listed at $US 400.

F12 is a bit slow for imaging though.
You could buy two and make some bino's out of them for visual. Sell off one of the mounts and re-coup some money.
Or buy four and start a dragonfly project.
