I have found Kimwipes flawless actually - not once scratching anything. These are KimWipe KIMTECH science wipers, not some of the lesser grades. Where I worked for Medical Micro research, not a chance of using anything else on microscopes - we would have been castigated and castrated.
I still have many boxes of them. I note that Kimberly-Clark have updated the product code and name...but my experience has not been a good one.

I have yet to see a brand name plain white Kleenex scratch/sleek a lens.

I won't use Kimwipes for optics ever again...others can make their own choices.
