It is a valid concern.
It may be that the whole impact of it is only in the time required to process the signal.
It is hard to believe that somebody would deliberately
lower the dynamics provided by the chip.
I will re-direct your concern to Tucsen in China

On second thoughts:

12 bit means 4096 shades of grey.
As this an amateur camera - isn't it enough?
If this applies to each colour it makes palette of colours so huge
that difference between 12 and 16 bits colour may be not noticeable.

I realise that there are 32bit colour devices too - but it is question of value for money.

BTW - I had a look at your photos. Superb. Congratulations.
