The Orion Arm of the Milky Way panorama

I took this nightscape 2 weekends ago at my dark site. It was a gorgeous night and I saw some oddball meteorites and a tumbling bright flashing satellite.

3 panels, each panel consists of 8 images. Pixel shift feature of Sony A7r3 where the sensor shifts 1 pixel between a set of 4 images using the IBIS stabilisation system so each colour of the Bayer colour Matrix records on every single pixel instead of 1 in 4 for red and blue and 2 in 4 for green.

I like it as it gets rid of excess noise, improves resolution and deepens the colour. Plus one click gets 4 shots! I set the gap between exposures to 1/2 a second so it is faster than an intervalometer or by hand.

It does require a tracker as pixel shift doesn't handle motion well.
