I am just about to buy a copy of backyard Nikon. I have BYEos but the camera is too old for live view. I have semi approval to use my wife's D3 (officially unsupported but it does work) and had a crack at nightscapes recently. I found it to be much more sensitive and less noisy than the old 350D as well as having live view for focussing.

The software is pretty easy to use and I found that I can set up a network share in the laptop so images go straight to my NAS for storage.
