I'll see if that is possible for this project ...thinking

The reason I like the Dec over-hung, is to track pass the Meridian.
So to eliminate the already machined clutch arrangement for reducing the RA shaft length is not attractive to me.... and need to machine an accurate shaft OD to replace the Byers hub ... matching the worm wheel ID.
