The Maksutov-Cassegrain Advantage
This telescope design corrects the problem of off-axis aberrations that are commonly encountered with the reflector design. It improves edge to edge clarity when viewing wider field of views. Because the mirror already reflects the light for a certain distance inside the tube, a longer focal length is achieved without the need for a much longer tube. False colours are significantly minimised allowing for an improved viewing experience.

The Skywatcher 150 mm Skymax comes with a nice selection of accessories, including a 2” 90-degree star diagonal, a 28 mm 2” LET eyepiece, an 8 x 50 straight-through finder for the location and centering of objects, and a Vixen-style dovetail plate
