The 24-105 on a crop camera like the 60d is NOT wide angle !
The FOV of the wide end (24mm) is no more than 60 degrees.
The EF-S 15-85 I have is a good one as well (despite no red ring and only 5.6 at the 85mm end), but 3.5 at the 15mm end and an angle of 84º.
