That 17-70 sigma looks pretty good. It's a shame the HSM version is only applicable to Nikon mount - did you have the non-HSM version and can you tell me how good the focusing speed/noise was as a result?
The macro capability is appealing, as is the F/2.8! All round sounds pretty good actually.
