yes, could be fake (because deliberate fakes and misidentification abounds in the meteorite market) but I check stores before i buy, stoney type if i recall. most of my meteorite collection is not on display. I'm thinking of dedicating a glass shelf in my cabinet to them and paint a world map outline on it and put the specimens on the map where they impacted, not sure, might get overly crowded in areas and lots of wasted display space elsewhere, still thinking on it.
