Normally I use permanent mount in my backyard...
This handpad has USB and BT, so for GoTo I use CdC (via USB) or (very rarely) Howard's android app.
With CdC, I simply point to bright star near wanted object and sync on it.. then GoTo where ever I want.
Once I performed GoTo to M33 from opposite side of the sky, without problem - object was in the centre of 400mm lens FOV.
