I assume you are referring to the hard edge caused by the natural rock face of the cliff against the background sky Greg. Not sure I would like to soften it as it is not a blend of tracked versus untracked. All single basic tripod images.

Yeah the core of the Milky Way is now pretty much done for the year. That is why I went up to this location for this shot on a Sunday night before work. It was a case of do it now or wait another 8 months or so. I tried several times to do this image last year but was thwarted by either cloud or too much water blowing back onto the camera from the falls.
