Thanks Rick. I've been using screw in filters up until I got my filter wheel for deep sky. That wasn't a problem since DSS can rotate or register the RGB frames. But DSS doesn't work with planets. If you can compensate for field rotation from slight misplacement when you drop the camera assembly back in you would be okay.

By the way manual filter wheels are pretty cheap on ebay.
