My first RGB planet image

This is my very first RGB image of a planet. My new filter set arrived yesterday so thought I'd give it a try with my also new ZWO ASI183mm Pro. I've never liked the thought of imaging planets with a mono camera, but in reality it's really not that hard. Just take three sets of AVI's rather than one. I was surprised how well the red spot showed up on the green and blue filters.

I wound the gain up a bit so I could reach 50fps and used 800x600 ROI. The scope was a deforked Meade LX90 ACF 8" F10 SCT on a HEQ5 Pro. Camera was at prime focus as this seemed to suite the 2.4um pixels the best.

Oh and this was also taken before sunset as I have obstructions to the west lower down. The wind was blowing a gale so killed off 50% of frames to 500 per channel. Io and Europa can be seen on the left.

Captured in Sharcap, aligned in PIPP, stacked in Registax and processed in Photoshop.
