Removal of Newton Rings in Solar imaging
Anyone using narrowband Ha solar scopes has probably come across the annoying Newton Ring interference pattern in their images.
On the solar chat site we've found a couple of solutions
- tilt the camera relative to the optical axis
- add a 2-4 degree wedge prism immediately before the sensor
Both these solutions slightly change the angle of the monochromatic light to the interference layers and suppresses the NR.
