Hello everyone,
I've finally got my new setup up and just started viewing a few nights ago! It's a 200mm F4 newtonian with a Stellarvue F50 finderscope on a Skywatcher HEQ5Pro mount. I've got EQMOD up and running with StarryNightPro which is absolutely brilliant on my laptop!
Just need to have a go with guiding now. Have been tinkering with PHD Guiding software, but haven't had an actual run due to clouds. Second pic is my current imaging setup, a Canon 40D with 70-200mm F/4L lens. Even just straight on the mount it takes 2 minute shots @200mm with a reasonably good polar alignment. I'm very pleased with the HEQ5Pro, I think for the money it's a great platform with a lot of possibilities. I just can't understand who thought it was a good idea to have an excessively powerful red light illuminating the polarscope!
