Regarding your question - the eclipse glasses will be fine to wear over the top of normal glasses, as long as you're careful to ensure they cover as much as possible and don't let any direct Sun leak in the sides.

I think you'd need to hold the eclipse glasses in place across your normal glasses, rather than just having them sit on your ears/nose - but I don't see why it wouldn't work.
