Thanks for your help guys. Lots of great info and some useful guides and links. This thread is a good resource for new CCD users out there.
Maxim doesn't have an auto screen strech button (it sounds easy in Neb2)... I'll have a fiddle with the red and green sliders and move them to the full range and see what happens...
And if the sky's clear this week I'll take an image or two and report back.
