First light Canon 100-400L II: NGC 7000

Last Saturday night I used my newly bought Canon 100-400LII for the first astrophoto: the North America Nebula.

I made 11 frames of 4 minutes each, used an Astronomik UHC-S clip in filter on my 6D.
Then I stacked the CR2's with Photoshop but it turned out into ugly weird colors which I could not fade out.

So I restacked with DSS and postprocessed again with Photoshop, but the colors were much better, the real Halpha red.
Attached the setup, the ugly bluish photo and the good Halpha red photo.

BTW, you Aussies can image this object in winter and early spring, unless you live in Victoria or Tasmania (too low in the sky). It is called the North America nebula for a reason (best visibility area, hahaha) ....
