Great work..I guess you are limited in exposure time by the parking regulations... I see a two hour limit....you must have set up and polar align down to F1 pit stop efficiency...
In Gimp there is a doge and burn tool that allows selective brightening or darkening which if you are interested in masks is a quick way out for selective brightening and darkening..I have not used it in Gimp only in photo shop but I find it really handy without creating a mask.
More exposures will also do wonders ..in my case I take many hours and these days and throw out so much...but if you use only the best you notice...
Anyways I would be very happy with such a great result ... it is surprising that you did so well given where you were...
