Jupiter GRS dramas, 17th-25th May

The Great Red Spot is experiencing some challenges just now, with big waves of red material being pulled from it, a process that is continuing with yet another one in the last day or so!

Here's my collation of images over the past 10 days, with the same region mapped to equirectangular projection, some nice details in and around the Spot and Red Spot Hollow. I was particularly lucky enough to get good views of the big blade of material on the 22nd and 23rd, its precursor f. the GRS on the 17th, and the long streamer by the 25th. The potential precursor to the next event is at about the 11 o'clock position on the final image. The Spot loses at least 5% of its width over this period, possibly a bit more.
