Brilliant double, very close in magnitude. Both appear white in colour. Hartungs gives mags 1.6 and 2.1. Estimate sep. to be about 5" which agrees with documentation of 4.4". Wide companion of about mag 5 is approx 70" away to Sp. This is a very nice target and is getting better at the moment.

Your description of Alpha Crucis is nearly exactly like what i saw yesterday unfortunately the clouds came racing in before i even got 2 mins

One thing i found odd is that you didn't mention the triangle shape it gives,like an isoceles triangle.It is a magnificent double.
