It should work. I've used it with single frames before from my QHY5L-II. It doesn't have to do anything much, you don't even have to enable debayering. But most importantly, you need to tell it which format to output
Personally, I prefer to control the "quality" of my planetary frames in Registax, but I use PIPP to centre and crop the subject in the frames to reduce the size of the file being fed to Registax.
