A "Visual" Guys adventures in Imaging

Having recently taken the plunge into a proper imaging setup, I am learning a great deal.
The things I have learnt are:
1. Astro imaging is not really that hard, you can get results with some pretty basic setups and minimal knowledge. So long as you are not to fussed about quality!!
2. GOOD astro imaging is much harder!!
3. Backyard EOS is a fun program. Well designed, very functional, does what it says it will do and the support from Guylain is first rate.
4. The Canon 760D camera is a little cracker of a camera. Purchased this to take to Hawaii a few months back and makes a great basic imaging DSLR. The touch screen and wifi connectivity make it very handy for widefield work. Although wifi only works at this stage with Canons own software, hopefully BYE will utilise it in the future.
5. Take your counterweight off the mount BEFORE detaching the mount from the tripod.
