I assume your referring to axis play. Ideally tighten the bearing cap nut while moving the shaft, once it binds your too tight. You want minimal play without binding. The bearing should be able to move smoothly through its entire rotation. I hope you used SuperLube or some other synthetic grease, as some auto type greases can contribute to binding. Make sure you have adjusted the worm bearing end cap so it has no slop in the worm movement from side to side. Check for belt scraping on the metal of the RA housing, this has been known to happen as not all housings are cleaned up enough at the factory. I had to attack minecwith a Dremel tool in a couple of spots to improve clearance where the belt moves through the opening to the worm.
